Valusaur is an iPhone app that scans Pokémon cards and shows what they are actually worth — the exact variant, its live market price, and its price history. It is built and run independently, by a collector, without funding from any marketplace, grader, or publisher.
The data behind the app
The app sits on top of our own pricing infrastructure: a live database that tracks singles across 7 card regions and multiple marketplaces (TCGplayer and Cardmarket among them), with historical prices, variant-level mapping, and daily updates. When the scanner identifies a card, the price you see comes from that pipeline — not from a screenshot of someone else's website. The same database powers the numbers we publish in our news & guides.
How our articles are made
The news section is researched and drafted with the help of AI tooling we built, working from primary sources — official announcements, tournament results, marketplace data — and every factual claim is cited with its source and as-of date. Articles are reviewed before and after publication, and corrected or retired when they no longer hold up. If you spot an error, tell us and we will fix it.

Valusaur is free to download on the App Store and currently holds a 4.8★ rating. Card recognition runs on-device; see the privacy policy for exactly what that means for your data.
